So much has been said and discussed about the past happenings in the world and our industry...

...that I want to take this opportunity to talk about the future and the positive news and trends we are seeing and reading about.


Trends indicate that travelers are feeling more confident traveling internationally exploring other countries and, although business travel is a bit slower in its comeback, the combination of business with pleasure travel (‘bleisure’) remains popular and growing.

Sources like UNWTO and Amadeus estimate that recovery of global international travel will reach between 55% to 70% of 2019 numbers in 2022 and continuous upward trends for 2023.

The presence of Skål International in international forums represented by our president and the multiple initiatives that our clubs are undertaking worldwide at country and area levels are to be applauded and emulated – looking forward is the name of the game – working towards the future proactively is the vision- 

Let us all make sure we are ready for the changing needs and expectations of travelers. Let us prepare our organization and businesses for this positive future!
